We are standing at a critical juncture in human history. Both Scripture and world events point us to the reality that we are living in the generation where Jesus will return. Isaiah 60:1 – 2 prophesied about the uniqueness and significance of this generation: light will get brighter as darkness becomes darker. But even as the onslaught of darkness increases, the Holy Spirit will visit His people with unprecedented power. The greatest revival and crisis in history is about to break forth.
In light of all this, what is the great need of this hour?The great need of this hour for the Church of Jesus Christ is to HEAR what the Spirit is saying. In Revelation 2:7, 11, 17, 29; 3:6, 13, 22, the Scriptures exhort us,
“He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the Churches.”
More than this, the Church of Jesus Christ needs to KNOW what the Holy Spirit is saying and doing with great clarity and certainty, so that we can align ourselves to the heart of God and prepare ourselves to partner Him. 1 Chronicles 12:32 says,
“Of the sons of Issachar who had understanding of the times, to know what Israel ought to do…”
For those in the Church of Jesus Christ who are prepared, this most challenging time in human history will be our finest hour as we move in God’s glory and power.
Why THE CALL?
The Lord spoke to us about the urgency to trumpet the heart of God with boldness and clarity in a time such as this, and to proclaim what the Spirit is saying and doing! Indeed, we are living in a very significant hour of human history. We are living in the period of history described by the Scriptures as the “beginning of sorrows” or “the beginning of birth pains,” which precedes the Great Tribulation (Matthew 24:4 – 8, 21).
The Bible tells us that this will be the most challenging yet finest hour of the Church of Jesus Christ if we prepare ourselves. Even as we find ourselves in this unusual hour and extreme time, we cannot live life business-as-usual and run our ministries the same way we used to. Extreme times require extreme measures!
The questions of the hour are therefore: HOW THEN SHALL WE LIVE? HOW THEN SHALL WE PREPARE? Isaiah 40:3 says,“The voice of one crying in the wilderness: ‘Prepare the way of the Lord; make straight in the desert a highway for our God.’”
In May 2012, the Lord invited us to begin partnering Him to hold an annual conference in Singapore – THE CALL. It was an invitation for us to be His voice to proclaim what the Holy Spirit is saying and doing in order to prepare the people of God in this land. It was also an invitation to partner Him as He was beginning to raise up a David Generation that will pursue wholehearted love for Jesus and a lifestyle of radical obedience, reckless abandonment and relentless trust for Him! (Jeremiah 3:15)
What is THE CALL?
THE CALL is a voice that exhorts/prepares the Church to understand the heart and agenda of God before the return of Jesus. (Revelation 2:7)
THE CALL is a proclamation of what the Holy Spirit is about to emphasize on a global and universal scale so that the Church may align her heart and her plans to partner with God in a time such as this. (1 Chronicles 12:32)
THE CALL is about making sense of WHAT is happening and WHY things are happening according to the Word of God. It teaches HOW the people of God can prepare so that we can agree with the heart and plans of God in these Last Days before the return of our Lord Jesus Christ. (Isaiah 40:3 – 5)
The Lord has given us specific themes and foci for each year of THE CALL.
At the inaugural Conference in 2012, we focused on the heart and destiny of God for the generation in which Jesus will return – The David Generation, and in 2013, we focused on a foundational and fundamental question for the End-Time Church – Who is Jesus?
In the years ahead, we will be focusing on these specific themes and topics: 2014 – Prepare the Way of the Lord 2016 – End-Times, Israel and the Church 2017 – Who is Jesus when He returns? 2018 – The Global Worship & Prayer Movement at the End-of-the-Age 2019 – Understanding Israel (Topics are subject to change)Follow-Up from THE CALL
As the 4-day conferences are only able to give snapshots of the full message, we will be having Forerunner Schools that will build on these themes in the months after the conferences.
