The true Gospel of the Kingdom is one that is after God’s heart and according to His Word. It is not the humanistic gospel that teaches about a God in heaven who is primarily concerned about the happiness of man. The pinnacle of the Gospel is that in it, the righteousness of God is revealed (Romans 1:17):
- Who God IS – He is right and He is righteous!
- What God DEMANDS – because He is righteous, He has to punish every unrighteousness!
- What God OFFERS – the offering of righteousness through the Cross of Jesus!
This cannot be resolved without the Cross of Jesus Christ. “Before we can see the Cross as something done FOR us, we have to see it as something done BY us.” John Stott Only the man who is prepared to own his share in the guilt of the Cross will truly understand the glory and power of the Gospel and also may claim his share in it’s grace!
